In the coming days the City of Otsego plow trucks will be utilizing a rarely used tool; wing blades. The purpose of the wing blades is to apply the snow found on the road to the top of the current snow banks along City streets. You will notice that the banks have been growing, and growing, and growing… When plow trucks come through they are pushing the snow off the roads only to hit the banks and fall back down onto the edges of the road leaving the roads messy and not cleared. The wing blades will place it on top of the banks. It has been multiple years since these have been used. And with the low temperatures, none of the snow is melting and they may be needed for the foreseeable future. Please continue to drive with caution. Unfortunately, there is no end in sight.
