City Hall Closure Due To Extreme Weather

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, due to the extreme weather conditions.

If you have an emergency, please call 269-692-6111.

If you have questions during this closure, please use the City’s website to send emails. https://www.cityofotsego.org/contact/

The Department of Public Works will be working diligently to keep the roads cleared. Thank you to all of the WWTP, DPW, Police, and Fire Department Staff.

Please be safe during these extreme weather conditions.

Thank you.

Attention Businesses

Personal Property Tax Exemption Affidavits for property less than $80,000 in depreciated value must be filed in February in order to be eligible for the exemption. Please note the State of Michigan has changed the exemption process to a one-time filing of an affidavit, meaning that businesses which file in 2019 will not need to file again unless the total amount of their personal property exceeds a depreciated true cash value of $80,000. We will try to contact local businesses who have not filed by mid-February to assure eligible exemptions are granted, however, we would appreciate early filings of affidavits.

Tonight’s Planning Commission Meeting

At this time, the City Planning Commission Meeting for tonight Monday, January 28th, is still scheduled to take place.

This meeting will only by canceled – if the County declares a State of Emergency or the applicants request that it be canceled. There are many regulations and stipulations that have to be followed when a Public Hearing is scheduled. Please refer to the City’s website for a full version of the public notice.

PLEASE NOTE THE CITY WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY POSTS ON THIS THREAD, nor will they be communicated to the Planning Commission.

If you have questions, opinions, or concerns – we ask that you contact City Hall at 692-3391.

Thank you.
