City Hall Open for Absent Voter Ballots

City Hall Will Be Open Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 9am-10:30am and 1pm-3pm only for the purpose of obtaining Absent Voter Ballots for the election to be held August 7, 2018.

In 1996, the City of Otsego secured over 20 acres on the north west side of town which previously was used to grow Christmas trees.

The rectangular site has a gentle slope which rises to the north. Because this site adjoins industrial and residential areas, the city commission has not yet determined its best use.

The City is willing to consider all suggestions and proposals for the use of this site. The parcel number is 0354-015-018-00.

Street Light Maintenance

Right Way Control Services will be in the Downtown and at Memorial Park on, Saturday, June 9, 2018, spraying for weeds.

Notice of Public Hearing – Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment

Notice of public hearing to consider a text amendment to the city of otsego zoning ordinance.

The Otsego Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 22, 2018, at City Hall, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, at 7:00 p.m., local time, to consider public comment regarding proposed amendments to the Otsego Zoning Ordinance. The proposed text amendments include Section 18 – Signs, deleting Political Signs and adding Temporary Signs; and Section 3.17, adding Storage Containers.

Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, during normal City business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding City holidays. Written comments concerning the proposed amendments may be submitted to the City Clerk by first class mail or in person up to the meeting time.

Water Questions Survey

Recent interest in environmental issues has highlighted a desire for residents to learn more. Several Otsego residents, environmental groups, and Otsego City with support from U.S. EPA and MDEQ are working together to organize opportunities for residents to have access to information and resources from a variety of sources.
