Notice of public hearing to consider a text amendment to the city of otsego zoning ordinance.
The Otsego Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 22, 2018, at City Hall, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, at 7:00 p.m., local time, to consider public comment regarding proposed amendments to the Otsego Zoning Ordinance. The proposed text amendments include Section 18 – Signs, deleting Political Signs and adding Temporary Signs; and Section 3.17, adding Storage Containers.
Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, during normal City business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding City holidays. Written comments concerning the proposed amendments may be submitted to the City Clerk by first class mail or in person up to the meeting time.

Several Otsego residents, environmental groups, and Otsego City with support from U.S. EPA and MDEQ are working together to organize opportunities for residents to have access to information and resources from a variety of sources.

Heidi Denton who is with the Allegan County Community Mental Health Prevention Services will be attending the Monday, April 2, 2018, City Commission Meeting, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
She will be giving a presentation on drug use, abuse, and the effects to the citizens and community specifically discussing medical marijuana with studies and reports from States that have approved marijuana use both for medical and recreational purposes.

The Otsego City Commission at its March 8, 2018, Special Meeting, considered and adopted the following Amendment to the Otsego Zoning Ordinance.
The proposed text amendment added to Section 18.6 Permitted Signs – G-I, IPUD – Water Tower Signs.
