VOTER IDENTIFICATION CARDS – Please watch your mail for your new Voter Identification Cards. New cards were sent to every voter registered in the City. The new cards have your updated information in regards to the new redistricting. If you have any questions, please call the Clerk’s Office.
***If you receive a Voter ID card at your residence that is for someone that does not live there anymore, PLEASE “return to sender”, so that the Post Office can return it to the Clerk’s Office.
The City Assessor’s Office will be conducting field work beginning tomorrow 5/11/2022. Streets include: Conference, Fair, South Farmer, East & West Franklin, South Grant, West Hammond, Kalamazoo, East & West Morrell, Muriel, South North, East & West Orleans, Sherwood, and Wilmott. The field person (Grey Castello) will have City Identification. If you have any questions, please call City Hall. 692-3391.

Petition forms/packets are now available at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 117 E. Orleans St., for election to the Otsego City Commission. The City Election will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Three Full-Term City Commission seats will be open for election this fall; and Two Partial-Terms (2 Years).
The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes for the Full-Term Seats will be elected to four-year terms and the third candidate will be elected to a two-year term. Partial Term Seats will be for two-years.
In order to qualify for the Office of City Commissioner, a candidate must be:
* A resident of the City for not less than one (1) year immediately preceding his or her election.
* A registered voter.
Nominations for office are determined by petition signed by not less than 40 registered voters of the City of Otsego. Petitions need to be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office no later than Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 4:00 p.m.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A TEXT AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF OTSEGO ZONING ORDINANCE
The Otsego Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 23, 2022, at City Hall, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, at 7:00 p.m., local time, to consider public comment regarding proposed amendments to the Otsego Zoning Ordinance.
AMENDING THE CITY OF OTSEGO ZONING ORDINANCE; TO AMEND SECTION 11.3 CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD) – ADDING (E.) OUTDOOR MUSIC, CONCERT OR ASSEMBLY VENUES; AND SECTION 15 – ADDING (15.6 RR.) OUTDOOR MUSIC, CONCERT OR ASSEMBLY VENUES
Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 117 East Orleans, Otsego, MI 49078, during normal City business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding City holidays. Written comments concerning the proposed amendment may be submitted to the City Clerk by first class mail or in person up to the meeting time.

CITY TRASH PICK-UP IS THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH -the next pick-up will be May 5, 2022. This is limited to 3 bags or boxes. Please refer to the City’s website for further information.
Household trash is picked up by Public Works Employees on the first Thursday of each month. Trash is limited to two or three small bags or boxes of non garbage refuse. Please place trash on the curb lawn the night before pickup.
Items that will not be picked up include furniture, appliances, yard waste, and building materials. These materials may be taken to the City Transfer Station. https://www.cityofotsego.org/public-works-department/
